How we can help

Most people will experience some side effects during pelvic radiotherapy treatment. These symptoms often settle during the first few weeks after radiotherapy finishes.

Symptoms that start or continue 3 months or more after the end of radiotherapy are known as Pelvic Radiation Disease (PRD). Sometimes symptoms can appear years or even decades after radiotherapy treatment.

If you think you are experiencing symptoms of PRD, we have a symptom checklist as well as the PRD Best Practice Pathway on our resources page, which are helpful tools to start the conversation with your GP about your care.

We understand the impact living with PRD can have, and we are here for you. We have a range of resources and support services available.

Support from PRDA

Chat Together

Our Chat Together peer support groups provide a welcoming and informal space for people living with PRD to connect with others who understand. Our friendly Online Community brings together people living with PRD from across the UK and beyond. A welcoming space that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, where people can share experiences, ask questions, offer support, and learn from one another in a safe and understanding environment.
